Buyback
The Schoolcraft College Bookstore makes every
effort to get you the highest possible payment for your USED books. It is
our policy to buy every college textbook that you decide is no longer needed
or wanted and for which there is a resale market. Buyback operates on a first-come, first served
basis. The bookstore buys back a predetermined quantity of titles that are
being used for an upcoming semester. When the bookstore limit is reached, a
wholesale price will be offered. Workbooks, study guides, lab manuals,
spiral-bound books, books with tear-out pages, books with excessive writing
or highlighting, books with floppy disks, missing or badly damaged covers,
broken spines or missing pages are generally NOT bought back by the
bookstore but may be purchased by the wholesaler. Books purchased new- up to 50% of the current retail price will be paid if the book has been
ordered by an instructor at Schoolcraft College for the following semester
and our store inventory levels have not been met. Books purchased used- up to 50% of the current used book price will
be paid if the book has been ordered by an instructor at Schoolcraft College
for the following semester and our store inventory levels have not been met. USED books purchased through Book Buyback for
resale in the Schoolcraft College Bookstore are resold at 75% of the
publisher's list price. Therefore, if the new list price is $30.00, the USED
book is sold at $22.50. That is a 25% savings for the student who buys a
USED book. As an additional service and convenience for
you, the Schoolcraft College Bookstore is providing a market for the books
not needed by our bookstore through the largest national USED book company.
The price paid for these books (the wholesale price) is determined by
national supply and demand. Most current edition college textbooks have a
wholesale value. Timing is important when deciding to sell a
book. Although the Schoolcraft College Bookstore operates a year-round book
buyback program, you are most likely to get top value for your books if you
sell during the week of final exams. Please bear in mind that the buy-back payment is
governed by information available from the professors, prices quoted by the
wholesalers, the general condition of the book and whether or not the book
will be used on campus the next semester. Information about whether or not a specific book
will be bought back and buyback prices will NOT be given over the
phone. If you would like to mail us a book to sell

Please include the following information: Author, Title, Edition, ISBN, if
the book was purchased New or Used. We will mail you a check for the buyback amount.
